The nation’s healthcare staffing crisis is getting a shot in the arm from more than 60 associations that have joined a new job network, the National Healthcare Career Network. The goal is to enable healthcare recruiters to reach more qualified candidates in less time.
“By definition, the very best healthcare candidates are affiliated with healthcare associations,†says Sharon Allen from the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
“Participating with our colleagues in the National Healthcare Career Network gives visibility to association job boards — heightening their awareness as valuable recruiting resources,†she says.
Once inside the network, healthcare recruiters gain access to candidates from the following professional member organizations:

The Infusion Nurses Society, a healthcare association for nurses who specialize in intravenous therapy, says it has received five times the average number of job advertisements in two weeks, increasing its members’ exposure to recruiters. And the Association for Community Health Improvement reports that its participation in the network has increased their job opportunities by the hundreds.
According to a recent Jobs Report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the healthcare field has added 365,000 jobs over the past 12 months.
