Idaho Wants Employees to Move Home and Stay

Workforce Gap GraphThe state of Idaho, saying it’s short of the people it needs over the next few years, is trying to bring more people to the state, get current employees to stay, and get boomerangs to return.

The state’s labor department calls the campaign “Choose Idaho.” It includes a website for people to upload a resume, as well as buttons for people to share the word about Idaho on Facebook and Twitter.

The state labor department says “professional recruiters will personally respond and look for jobs that match the skill sets listed on each résumé.”

It also says it will “help employers identify and list hard-to-fill jobs, share best practices in interviewing and hiring, and help identify training resources.”

Right now, the Idaho labor force is expected to expand far too slowly compared to what the state needs (see graphic above).
