A short update on Marriott, since we’ve mentioned its “10 Days of Shoes” on Facebook; its career pages overhaul; and its iPad application for Europe.
The hotel chain is now out with a new “mobile apply” feature for mobile phones.
The feature is for smart phones and tables, for Marriott and the Ritz. It’s available in English, Spanish, French, Simplified Chinese, German, and Portuguese so far (more languages in March).

Candidates type in information about themselves, or import information from LinkedIn. Interestingly — unusual for mobile job applications — Marriott built a little assessment to go with the mobile application process, asking candidates job-specific questions like you see in the graphic.
Marriott has used companies like Avature (to work on its career site) and Punchkick Interactive (to work on mobile recruiting technologies) in the past. This time around, I hear that Marriott, rather than use a niche mobile-app vendor, used Oracle to build the mobile application process.
