Wednesday’s looking like an awfully good day to post a job.
At least that’s what you glean from job-distributor eQuest, whose data indicates a lot of U.S. job-seekers are hunting on Wednesdays, as well as Tuesday and Thursday. It studied more than a million jobs posted online to see when candidates searched and sent in resumes.

And eQuest found this about what times of day people searched and sent in resumes:

- “Jobs posted to Twitter experienced its highest level of searches and responses from mobile devices on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesdays
- Monster, CareerBuilder and Indeed.com were at their strongest Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from computers, during the lunch hour.
- Healthcare job postings were most active when posted on Wednesdays, retail jobs on Saturdays, and technology jobs were at their strongest Tuesdays and Fridays.”
Thanks For the post Todd. With holidyas factored in I see theres a huge drop in both the recruitment companies and job seekers. The traffic has drastically fallen down. Do you think This trend will continue till the end of this month? or will there be an increase in traffic starting next year?

This backs up the data that we’ve seen on our sites over the past ten years. Pretty consistently, too.
Sylvester, I find it interesting that you’d use the phrase “drastic” in terms of traffic drops. While it’s true that seeker traffic (at least on our sites) falls slightly in December, we in fact see an increase in job postings through the end of the year. In contrast, the week between the holidays and New Years see a strong uptick in seeker traffic, whereas the job postings don’t typically increase until February, but the volume doesn’t really drop all that much in the interim.
