I saw a list that Publishers Weekly ran of publishing-industry employees who’d been laid off. And I thought: we need to do this. For recruiters.

There’s no need for anything fancy — we know that a lot of people are recently out of a job and want to make it easier for as many recruiters as possible to find a new gig.

  101. I have not visited ERE in almost 9 months and just found this. Mainly, I’ve been busy with clients, hiring, and traveling around the U.S.

    IRES, Inc. has hired 3 individuals this year (Orlando, Pittsburgh, and New Jersey) and we continue to seek qualified, experienced, self-motivated individuals BUT (and here’s the ‘but’ part) you must be able to take on a DUAL ROLE (full cycle) with our business model.

    In other words we don’t take on recruiters that are great recruiters – – but are unwilling or unable to cultivate client relationships.

    This means someone must be able to a) work with clients (doesn’t have to be cold calls – but at a minimum a warm call to previous clients current staff is unable to get to [these are companies already familiar with us]) and then b) recruit for those projects that surface.

    One of the reasons I have never had to lay-off anyone ever – – is because we never differentiated between client development and recruiting. Each individual at IRES is trained in both capacities. Hence when times get tough – instead of “selling jobs to candidates” we turn around “and sell our services to companies”.

    That’s why we’re here since January 1991. I don’t want to sound like I’m boasting – but because I was taught this business the old fashioned way [the right way] …. and only rarely segregated job duties into sourcing, researching, etc … we’ve done well.

    Also – we have a research and ‘sourcing” person in house that will supports our full-cycle recruiters with initial long list name development and is fully trained in all the technologies.
