What’s New: LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, Hooble, Comparably

What I’m hearing:

Article Continues Below
  • LinkedIn has a new preferred partner program, and a list of preferred partners.
  • Careerbuilder, part of reinventing itself, is buying Aurico.
  • A job board — actually, it’s calling itself a candidate board — called Hooble is scheduled to go live in May. Laurie Correll is the founder, out of Connecticut. Candidates will set up profiles and will be able to communicate with employers though something called “En-gauge,” which the company says “allows both candidates and hiring parties to connect, communicate, and transparently gain firsthand knowledge about hiring status, interest assessment, competitive landscape, ‘fit’ perspective and various other engaging capabilities.”
  • Comparably is launching out of Santa Monica, led by the founder of Docstoc, Jason Nazar. The company has raised $6.5 million in Los Angeles and the Bay Area (including money from Cornerstone OnDemand) to, in its words, “provide transparency around compensation and culture.” It allows people to see how their salary compares to similar jobs in the same city, with a particular focus on comparing it by gender.
